Except for Me

Aaron was being silly tonight when we were putting everyone in bed. He was flexing his arms and talking in an Arnold Schwarzenegger voice. He flexed at me and said in his funny voice, "They stood up to me and my awesome muscles". I laughed at him and he said in the same voice, "Ahh, curse you and your children!"...(thought about that one, then)..."Except for me!".

Clara the Best

I was sitting in the living room with the girls and singing them silly songs. Hannah looked at me and said, "I love you Mom!". I smiled at her but then Emma said, "I don't."
"Hey!", I replied.
Emma shrugged and said, "Sorry, but I just love Clara the best."
Well, at least it's still in the family :)

Everything

Emma lost a tooth yesterday and she was so excited to put it under her pillow. When we had all the kids tucked in with the lights out last night, I heard Emma call me. I went to see what she needed. Emma motioned me to get really close and then gave me a big hug. Then she whispered in my ear, "I know Santa and the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy are you and Dad, so thanks for everything!".

A Grown Man

Aaron was telling me today that there was a good side and a bad side to being sick. He said, "The good side is that you get treated like a king or a queen and you get to stay home from school. The bad side is that you feel like you're gonna die."

We had lasagna for dinner tonight and Aaron was really hungry. He held out his plate and said, "Give me a lot Mom." I dished his plate with a pretty big scoop but he kept holding his plate up. "Come on Mom", he said, "a LOT, I'm gonna be a grown man soon!".

Only Son

I was sitting at the computer this afternoon when Aaron came up and gave me a hug. He patted me on the back and said, "Can I get on the computer please?". When I didn't answer right away he hugged me again and with a big smile said, "As your only son, I'm asking."

Alligator Wrestler

So Aaron is finally starting to warm up to Clara now that she's a bit more interactive. She was playing on the floor when he came home and he laid down next to her and started playing with her. He thought it was hilarious because every time he put something in front of her she'd grab it with both hands and start chewing on it. He laughed and said, "Hey Mom watch, she wants to fight with everything I give her. I think when she grows up she's gonna be an alligator wrestler!".

Vampires and Chasing Boys

I was talking to Hannah about going to preschool in July (looks like she go to work on her speech). I told her that she would get to go to school and make lots of new friends.

Hannah: But Mom, the kids will think I'm a vampire and be scared and no one will want to play with me.

Me: Honey, why would they think you're a vampire?

Hannah: Because if I wear my costume.

Me: Well maybe instead of being a vampire you can just dress up like a girl, and then the kids won't be afraid of you and you will get to play all kinds of fun games.

Emma: Yea, like chasing the boys, that's really fun.

It's Perfect

Hannah put her sandals on to get ready to go but she put them on the wrong feet. I told her she needed to fix them because they were on the wrong feet. Hannah put her hands on her hips and said, "No! They're perfect!". When I laughed at this she said, "I'm serious!".

Respectable

We took Hannah to the store yesterday to get some sandals for summer time since all the shoes she has left are closed toe. She picked out some pink ones that were made of soft leather. We had her wear them around the store and she loved them and said they were so soft on her feet. Then this morning when it was time to get ready to go she put them on and then started yelling that they were bothering her! I told her that was too bad and she was going to wear them anyway because we'd already bought them and it was too late to take them back. She pointed at them and said, "But Mom! Those shoes aren't respectable!".
