Rock, Paper, Scissors, Song!

Playing with Daddy is so fun it just makes her want to burst into song!

*Please excuse her crazy hair, she had just gotten out of the tub and it wasn't  combed yet.

Emma

As you may know our Emma has always had her own sense of style. Well now we know where she got it from! We got some clothes from her great Grandma Vivian and Emma thinks they are just awesome.

This one is her favorite, she wore it to school today. You can't go wrong with leopard spots. Her other favorite, which she wore on Monday, is a black silky shirt with black feathers all around the collar. She also got a silky peach night gown she likes to wear over her clothes like a jacket. She is one cool chicki!

Clara's 2nd Birthday!

Happy, happy birthday to our beautiful Clara! She is now officially two years old, and boy is she two. We've had lots of tantrums and hissy fits at our house lately. But her mommy has to say that even though at times it seems like "No" is the only word Clara knows, Clara always says "Sorry Mom!" later.

We took Clara out for the day on her birthday, just to run errands and stuff, but we stopped at the pet store on the way home because that's her favorite place to go. She loves to see all the critters! After we got home we sang "Happy Birthday" and had cake while she opened presents.

Here's our little birthday girl wearing the outfit her Lupi sent her. She loved the kitty on the front, and of course she had to wear it with her boots!

Yes, she is adorable.

Here is Clara holding some of her birthday presents. She got a baby, a princess book and a microphone! She even got her very own dollar from Grandma. (Which she thinks is amazing and won't let anybody else touch.) She knows it's money, but I'm not sure she's figured out your supposed to do anything with it, lol.

She has been carrying the baby around with her everywhere, she even took it to church. And she's been using the microphone to sing "Roar" by Katy Perry, her favorite song. I keep trying to get it on video but she stops singing as soon as she realizes I'm recording. Gonna have to be sneaky to get it. :)

*Yesterday I got all the kids ready for Pack Meeting then turned on a movie for them so I could get ready to go. I was talking on the phone as I got ready and not really paying attention to anything else. When I was ready and went to get the kids to put them in the car Clara was gone! I looked outside, we looked all over the house and we couldn't find her.  I was starting to panic when her brother found her in her bed underneath all the covers fast asleep. I guess she's gotten tired so she took her baby, climbed in bed under all the blankets and took a nap. Her mom is just glad we found her!

Halloween!

This year we had a great Halloween. The night before we got to go to the ward Trunk or Treat, so we got double the candy! Daddy made sure there was a "candy tax" and the kids kept about 1/3 of their haul, so even though they got ALOT of candy, at least it's almost all gone by now!

Emma, the beautiful queen!

I bought the dress at the thrift store and it had gorgeous long sleeves. They were the fancy kind that dripped all the way to the floor. But Emma hated them so we cut them off :(  But I think she still looks cute! The rose she is holding is the rose we gave her when she finished her 5k at school, she thought it made her look more royal. ;)

*Notice her amazing 4 inch fancy shoes. She feels very grown up to have high heels!

Aaron, the little old man!

Aaron had a lot of fun this year with his costume. Not only did he wear it trick or treating, he wore it on walks and to school too!

And Hannah, the gorgeous dancer!

Hannah wore the dancer outfit for the Trunk or Treat, then for Halloween, she was a fairy. That's the fairy costume in the picture below. I love the fact that she went and got a bouquet of roses to hold for the picture just so she could be like her sister. As Hannah said, "Now I look extra cute!"

Clara, the cute, cute, pumpkin!
(We couldn't get her to hold still for a picture so the girls had to hold her.)

Clara was all over this Halloween thing. She was running up to all the houses with the big kids and she was so excited! She even tried to follow some guy into his house because she could see more candy inside. I think it's safe to say that so far this is her FAVORITE holiday.

This one is from Halloween night, by this time Clara understood the whole get candy part of the holiday and she wasn't too happy we were making her take pictures first.

We sure had fun! See you all next year!

My Daddy!

Clara has decided that our daddy is only HER daddy. She just absolutely loves him. Every morning as he's leaving for work she runs up and says, "Daddy! Huggies, kisses!!" She makes sure he bends down and gives her big hugs and kisses before he can get out the door.
The other day when daddy and I were sitting on the couch Clara climbed up on daddy's lap, spread her arms and head across his chest then turned to glare at me and said, "My Daddy!!"
I guess she just wanted to make sure I knew that he was HERS. lol

Run!

As you may know Emma has been participating in "Girls On The Run", which is a group of girls, grades 3-5, who get together after school on Mondays and Wednesdays and do fun activities while training to run a 5k. Em has LOVED it. She's made new friends and has lots of fun.

Monday was her 5k run! All the kids and I went down to the school to cheer for her. We took Sally, the dog, and Emma got to run with her puppy for part of the race. We are all so proud of our Emma for working so hard!

Here's Em running with Sally :)

After the race we gave Emma some special treats. Here she is with her surprises and a big smile. She was very proud of herself, and we were too!

Yay Emma!

Clean

Aaron has decided to be an old man for Halloween. I got him a Duck Dynasty Uncle Si beard at Walmart that's long and gray. Bub likes it so much he's been wearing it everywhere. He wore it to the dog park and to pick up his sister Emma from a friends house. He told me, "When people look at me they see an old man, but I'm really crazy, hahahahaha!" We've got an interesting kid here.

Our family got to go on the Haunted Hay Ride at Colossal Cave on Saturday. You get to sit on hay bales on the back of a horse drawn wagon that pulls you through the pitch black ranch while "monsters" jump out and try to scare you. The kids loved it! Aaron and Emma said their favorite part was when the chain saw carrying maniac tried to cut them in half. Hannah said, "That was so fun I loved it! But I'm never going on it again because it was too terrifying." Even Clara seemed to like it, although we're pretty sure she had no idea what was going on. She had this funny look on her face the whole time like, "What in the world??" She never cried or screamed or anything, which totally impressed all the other passengers. Even when the "zombie" kids jumped on the back of the wagon and pretended to bite Daddy's leg while he was holding her she just kind of looked at them and laughed.

We were in the car when Emma said from the back seat, "Eww! Hannah you're picking your nose!"
Hannah calmly turned in her seat and said to her sister, "I like to pick my nose because I want my nose to be clean!"

Finally... the rest of the birthday!

It only took me two months, but I've finally got the rest of the pictures from Hannah's birthday party...

Coolest Kid

Aaron was talking to one of his friends today about his class at school. He said, "I'm one of the smartest, strongest, coolest, bravest, fastest most awesome kids in my class. With... an awesome sense of fashion."

Definitely nothing wrong with his self esteem...

A Wise Girl...

On the way home from the park this morning Hannah was singing "The Wise Man Built His House Upon The Rock."

Well here is what Hannah's version was -

The wise man built his house upon the boat...the rains came down and the floods came up...and the house on the boat stuck together and floated away!

Hannah's 5th Birthday Party! (Part One)

On Saturday we had Hannah's birthday party! It was so much fun. She got so many presents her Daddy and I decided she is definitely spoiled rotten ;)
But we're sure happy she's a part of our little family.
This is part one of all the birthday pictures. (The rest are on Jared's phone, so I'll have to wait and upload them when his phone's available.)

Hannah wanted a "Spooky Halloween Birthday" so she could dress up in costumes and have fun. Here are two of our cuties all dressed up as princesses wearing spooky googly eyes!

Daddy, the Headless Horseman ;)

Lupi made Hannah a super creepy zombie cake! Hannah LOVED it!

Aunt Heather, cousins William and Joshua, and Grandpa got to come to the party too!

Grandpa had fun relaxing with Peepa.

Hannah holding up the zombie doll from the cake and the zombie puppy that came with it.

Spooky masks!

Bye, bye for now! We'll post the rest of the pictures soon!

Hannah's School Birthday

Yesterday was Hannah's 5th birthday! We're going to celebrate with a "Spooky Halloween Birthday Party" tomorrow. But Hannah's day yesterday was extra special. Before her Daddy left for work he gave her an amazing new One Direction back pack. She got to open a birthday card from Grandma and found 5 whole dollars! She says she's, "going to go shopping and buy some more One Direction stuff!" Then, at school her class has been incubating chicken eggs. They hatched a couple of days ago and yesterday all the children got to hold the newly hatched fluffy little chicks. And at snack time her whole class sang her "Happy Birthday." It was a very good day :)

Epic

Aaron has informed me, "You will never lead an epic life because you're too cautious. If you want to have an epic life, you have to be like me and do lots of stuff that could be deadly".

Real Men

Aaron was getting ready to walk his friend Ethan home. He came out with his bow and arrow strung across his back. I told him he needed to put it away because it wasn't safe to walk around a neighborhood with a strung bow and arrow.
Aaron protested that if someone tried to kidnap him how was he supposed to fight them off if he didn't have his bow and arrow!?!
I replied, "You can take your pocket knife or the pepper spray if your worried about it."
Aaron rolled his eyes at me and said in a tone of deep disgust, "Pocket knifes and pepper spray are for wimps! Bow and arrows are for real men!"

Silly Girl

Hannah is definitely our silliest little girl. She has an imagination and she lives in it! Below are two conversations from this week...

Hannah: Mom, I'm allergic to bunny rabbits.

Me: But I thought you liked bunny rabbits.

Hannah: Well, I'm only allergic to the ones that shoot fire out of their eyes.

Hannah: Emma when your at school today I'm gonna hold your mice.

Emma: Hannah, you have to be careful, if you squeeze any of them then I'm gonna squeeze you!

Hannah (rolling her eyes at Em and speaking in an amused voice): You couldn't even pop my head of.

Now!

Little Miss Clara has learned the word "now." Which unfortunately she has decided replaces the word "please." I know it's awful and rude but it's hilarious to hear such a teeny tiny little person trying to boss us all around when she wants something. "Book! Now!... Bottle! Now!...Eat! Now!" I keep saying, "No, no Clara, say please!" Then after she does I run into my room and crack up.

Old Days

Emma asked me this morning, "In the old days, like when Daddy was born, did they have money like us?". I guess according to her, Daddy is ancient!

Cute, cute!

Here are the kids showing off the cute outfits that Grandma gave them! (Except for Clara who would only put on the glasses and hold the puppy because she's a little stinker right now who hates to get dressed. If I'd forced her she would have been screaming for the pictures and I figure I have to have SOME pictures of her as a baby where she's not crying.)

Anyway, here we go...

Emma has dubbed this her "ice cream" dress because she says it looks just like chocolate chip mint ice cream. :)

The bag is from a birthday party Hannah went to. She was all excited because she got to wear her new dress.

Cute, cute Clara and Aaron rockin their shades.

Thank You Grandma!!

Missed

Aaron came home from CA today where he's been visiting Grandma (pictures to follow soon). He was in his room unloading when Hannah stuck her head in his door and said, "Aaron, I missed you so much! I thought I was gonna die."

Boys Rule

This summer Lupi sent us a jar filled with ideas for the kids to do. They're supposed to pick one everyday, and then do whatever activity it says. As we've been picking them we've discovered that Lupi hid some silly ones in there, like "Nanny nanny boo boo, try again!". Well this morning Emma picked one that said, "Boys rule and Girls drool! Try again!". She rolled her eyes in disgust and said, "Boompa put that one in there!".

Missing Aaron

Couldn't resist putting this up. Aaron left for California yesterday morning. Last night I went in to check on the sleeping girls but was surprised that the dogs weren't in their room with them. I found both Tootsie and Sally in Aarons room, sleeping next to each other on his bed. I guess they miss him.

Cut Hair

Suddenly noticed this morning that Hannah's hair was about 3 inches shorter on one side of her hair in the front. I asked, "Hannah, did you cut your hair?" She replied, "No! I didn't cut my hair!". I then asked her, "Well who did? Because I can see that it has been cut in the front." She looked at me very seriously and said, "Mom, I promise pinky swear that I didn't cut it. Maybe what happened was that I was just washing the dishes and there were some scissors on the counter and the pointy part just stabbed me in the hair."

Up, Up and Away!!

Summer afternoon photo shoot at the Meese house. We were super hero's today! We tried outside first, but they were all squinting. I put them on here anyway cause they're funny. But then we came inside and got some really good ones! Take a look...

Crazy Hair Day

Today was crazy hair day at the Meese house! Emma and Hannah decided they wanted to have crazy hair that was beautiful too, so we gave them gorgeous mermaid hair that was full of glitter.

Aaron decided to "go green". He spiked his Mohawk and painted it with colored gel.

Hannah did her own makeup too, I especially like the beautiful glittered eyebrows, heehee.

Clara sported her "I just woke up from my nap" crazy hairdo.

See you later!

Lake Patagonia

Since Jared has Monday's off we decided to take a trip today and we took everyone (all our kids and Tyler) up to Lake Patagonia to go fishing and swimming. We had so much fun in the water!

Oh, oh, oh! The water is cold!

*Sally was funny, when we first got to the lake she wouldn't go in the water because she was afraid of the waves. After she saw the kids splashing around for awhile I guess she decided the waves weren't evil after all and she got in to play.

Hannah found a great big clam shell on the beach, there were lots there, but she found the biggest one.

Clara just wanted to hang out by the table and eat snacks. She didn't like the cold water so she just hung around and ate Cheetos the whole time. At least she was happy!

Mommy made the mistake of wearing yummy smelling lotion. The bees wouldn't leave her alone! Finally she had to go jump in the lake with the kids to wash the lotion off.

Cheese!

Our cute little peach eating a peach :)

Yeah!!! This is fun!

* The big kids really had fun swimming. They had races and played games and just plain wore themselves out in the water :)

Hannah's "yeah!" was from the shallow water, but she was still having a blast!

Jared took Aaron, Tyler and Hannah exploring. They climbed up on those huge rocks and waved to Emma, Clara and I from on top.

Emma collected a bunch of shells and bottle caps. Not sure what was up with the bottle caps, but the shells were cool.

The boys attempted to fish, but there were too many boats going by :(

Hannah had fun snuggling Sally in the shallow water.

All dried off and ready to go home.

Corn dogs! We stopped at a market on the way home and got the kids a corn dog, swimming makes you hungry!

See you all next time!
